Keelan Harvick is taking the next step.
The 13-year-old racer has officially signed with Toyota Racing Development, giving him his first manufacturer-backed program. Toyota confirmed the deal February 23, placing Keelan inside one of NASCAR’s most structured development systems.
Kevin Harvick, 2014 Cup champion and Keelan’s father, said the family spent months deciding the right path. Toyota’s program stood out for its structure, resources, and team culture.
Racing Experience
Keelan has been logging miles in Late Models. He’s tackled Pro Late Models and Super Late Models, learning the nuances of each car.
Super Lates require strong braking and throttle control. Pro Lates teach consistency and race craft. Late Model Stocks add weight and less responsive brakes, forcing drivers to adapt.
Right now, it’s about seat time, not finishing positions. Every lap is a lesson in car control, handling power, and reading the track.
Growth On and Off the Track
Toyota Racing Development offers engineering support, simulators, and technical guidance, preparing young drivers for the NASCAR ladder.
Kevin Harvick said the right environment matters as much as speed. Character development and racing skill go hand in hand.
Tyler Gibbs recognized Keelan’s work ethic and commitment as part of why Toyota brought him into the program.
The plan is clear: race hard, learn constantly, and keep climbing. Keelan’s journey through NASCAR starts here.
